Tehran – Over 41,325 tons of spring (first flush) tea leaves have been harvested and guaranteed purchased in the northern 

Iranian provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran since April 21, according to the head of Iran's Tea Organization.

 

Habib Jahansaz, speaking to the Ministry of Agriculture news outlet, put the value of the purchased green tea leaves at nearly 997 billion Tomans.

He specified that approximately 39,000 tons of the harvested tea leaves are first grade, with the rest classified as second grade.

Jahansaz also reported that the spring harvest has so far yielded 9,298 tons of dried tea.
