Iran honored by FAO for exceptional World Soil Day celebration

Bangkok – The Iranian Ministry of Agriculture was recently awarded the prestigious King Bhumibol International World Soil Day Award 2024 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) thanks to the country’s commitment to sustainable agriculture and soil health.
The award honors Iran's outstanding efforts in organizing and implementing impactful celebrations for World Soil Day 2023.
The event engaged millions of participants and highlighted the crucial role of soil in sustaining life on Earth.
Dr. Safdar Niazi Shahriki, Deputy Minister of Water and Soil at the Ministry of Agriculture, received the award from Queen Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during the World Soil Day ceremony held on December 5th in Pakchong, Thailand.
This international recognition solidifies Iran's position as a leader in promoting sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship.
