Tehran – Iran's fishery industry has demonstrated remarkable growth, with exports reaching $187 million in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year, according to the head of the Iran Fisheries Organization.

 

Hossein Hosseini added that this marks a significant increase of over 33% compared to the same period in the previous year.

 

“The country exported more than 118,000 tons of fishery products during this period. Sea fish exports experienced the most notable surge, with a nearly 60% increase in weight and a 66% increase in value.”

 

 Hosseini further said that caviar exports also saw a positive trend, with 2,328 kilograms shipped overseas. 

 

 This flourishing export performance reflects Iran's strategic efforts to leverage its rich fishery resources and expand its market share within the global seafood industry.
