Iran develops new animal protein supplement

Tehran - Iranian scientists have successfully created a high-value protein supplement for livestock using processed broiler chicken manure—an innovation expected to save the country $100 million annually, a leading researcher announced.
Hassan Fazaeli, a faculty member at the Iranian Research Institute of Animal Sciences, confirmed the breakthrough, saying that the new supplement offers a cost-effective and safe alternative to expensive protein sources like soybean or canola meal.
"Through advanced processing, we’ve transformed poultry waste into a nutrient-rich feed additive free from pathogens," he said.
"This supplement maintains high nutritional value while significantly reducing reliance on costly imports."
