Iran condemns US attack on Natural Resources Agency
Tehran – Iran's Deputy Minister of Agriculture has condemned a US military attack on the country's Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization as a "clear violation of international humanitarian law."
Reza Aflatouni, who also heads the organization, made the remarks during a meeting with ambassadors from over 10 countries and representatives of international bodies.
“The strike on the civilian scientific and environmental agency cannot be justified by any logic of international law,” he said.
Aflatouni described his organization as strategically vital for Iran's biological and food security, climate resilience, desertification control, and local livelihoods.
He noted that the attack also targeted nuclear facilities, calling it a gross violation of the NPT and UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
Iran has formally lodged protests with UNESCO, UNDP, FAO, and the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, demanding an unequivocal condemnation of US-Israeli terrorist acts.
