Iran Razi Institute unveils new vaccine for Bovine Theileriosis

Shiraz – A groundbreaking achievement in veterinary medicine was unveiled on Wednesday, November 20th, as the Shiraz branch of the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute presented a novel vaccine for bovine theileriosis.

This marks the first time in the world that such a vaccine has been successfully developed.

The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Mr. Hossein-Ali Amiri, Governor of Fars, and Dr. Gholamreza Gol Mohammadi, Deputy Minister of Agricultural.

Addressing the event, Dr. Ali Es-haghi, Director General of the Razi Institute, praised the decade-long efforts of the research team that led to this significant breakthrough.

The new vaccine is expected to significantly impact the livestock industry, addressing a major challenge faced by farmers worldwide. The Razi Institute, a leading institution in vaccine production, has been at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to protect public health and food security.

In addition to the new bovine theileriosis vaccine, the institute is committed to expanding its vaccine portfolio. Future plans include the production of injectable pneumococcal and polio vaccines and the reintroduction of the whooping cough vaccine.

The institute also aims to increase domestic production of aquatic vaccines and to maintain its leading position in the veterinary vaccine market.
