Iran, Uzbekistan call for stronger quarantine, trade cooperation

Tehran - Senior officials from Iran’s Plant Protection Organization and Uzbekistan’s agricultural delegation met to explore enhanced export opportunities and joint plant quarantine initiatives.

In a recent meeting in Tehran attended by Maryam Jalili-Moghadam and representatives from Uzbekistan’s Agriculture Ministry, both sides pledged stronger quarantine collaboration and smoother agricultural trade between the two countries.

Jalili-Moghadam highlighted Iran’s favorable climate diversity and agricultural strengths, emphasizing the logistical benefits of geographic proximity

Effective quarantine coordination has enabled health certification and lawful export of Iranian goods to Uzbekistan,” she noted.

The discussions concluded with plans to finalize a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signaling a new phase in Iran-Uzbekistan agricultural diplomacy.
