Iran, Tajikistan express eagerness to strengthen agricultural cooperation
Tehran – The Iranian Minister of Agriculture and his Tajik counterpart reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
During a recent high-level meeting between Gholamreza Nouri and Qurbon Hakimzoda. discussed strategies to deepen collaboration and outlined specific areas for future joint projects.
Minister Nouri emphasized that strengthening agricultural ties aligns with Iran’s broader policy of enhancing relations with neighboring and friendly countries, as underscored by President Pzeshkian.
He stressed the critical importance of food security for both nations and the region, and expressed Iran’s full readiness to implement collaborative initiatives across various agricultural fields.
The two ministers welcomed the successful convening of the first Iran-Tajikistan Joint Agricultural Cooperation Committee last year and highlighted the importance of following up on its outcomes. Discussions also covered potential investments in agro-processing industries, expanding agricultural mechanization, and cooperation in livestock and aquaculture development.
It was agreed that the second session of the Joint Agricultural Cooperation Committee will be held in the near future to further advance these efforts.
