Tehran – Iran and Romania are taking steps to strengthen veterinary cooperation and expand trade in livestock and aquatic products, with a particular focus on increasing Iranian exports to the Romanian market.

 

The prospects for closer collaboration were discussed during a meeting between Alireza Rafieipour, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Head of Iran’s Veterinary Organization, and Seyed Mohsen Emadi, Iran’s newly appointed ambassador to Romania.

 

The talks focused on enhancing cooperation in animal health, quarantine regulations, disease prevention and control, and the facilitation of trade in animal products. Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening veterinary relations as a foundation for expanding agricultural trade.

 

Rafieipour stated that Iran is ready to deepen technical and scientific cooperation with Romania to support exports of high-value Iranian products, particularly shrimp, caviar, and other aquatic products, while ensuring compliance with international health standards.

 

The meeting also explored opportunities for collaboration in veterinary pharmaceuticals, biological products, laboratory services, livestock feed, and agricultural inputs. Officials noted that stronger technical cooperation could help build mutual confidence, improve market access, and support the growth of bilateral trade in animal-based products.
