Domestic manufacturing drives Iran’s agricultural mechanization push, parliamentarian says
Tehran - Iran is prioritizing the modernization of its agricultural machinery fleet through domestic production, according to the head of the Iranian Parliament’s Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Commission.
In a meeting with the CEO of Iran Tractor Manufacturing, Mohammad Javad Asgari highlighted the company’s key role in supplying farmers and replacing aging equipment, reaffirming full parliamentary support.
He praised rising production capacity and product diversification, noting that locally produced 160- and 200-horsepower tractors are helping meet demand for high-capacity machinery.
Asgari said reliance on national industrial capabilities will accelerate mechanization renewal, improve productivity, and strengthen the link between domestic industry and the agricultural sector.
