Tehran – Iranian nurseries have produced 25 million certified and standard fruit tree saplings this year, according to an official.

Abdolreza Kavand, Deputy Director of Research, Control, and Certification of Saplings at the Seed and Sapling Registration and Certification Institute said the saplings, grown in 630 licensed nurseries nationwide, are ready for distribution and will be used in projects to improve, revitalize, and replace orchards.

He noted that three million of the saplings are expected to receive official certification.
