Iranian fishermen catch over 20,000 tons of Kilka fish

Tehran - Iranian fishermen caught over 20,000 tons of tiny Kilka fish (Caspian Sea sprat) from the Caspian Sea in the past
Iranian calendar year of 1403 (ended on March 20), an official with Iran’s Fishery Organization said.
“Last fishing season, a total of 20,992 tons of kilka were caught in the northern provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran, showing
a 3 percent rise compared to the same period last year,” Reza Abbaspour Naderi said recently.
“This year, 70 fishing vessels were engaged in catching Kilka fish,” he said.
