112 thousand tons of honey produced in the country and its
exports

The executor of the country's beekeeping plan said: There
are 98,000 beehives in the country, which includes about 10,600,000 colonies,
of which 112,000 tons of honey were produced in the country last year.

Farhad Moshir-Ghaffari, adviser to the Deputy Minister and
executor of the country's beekeeping project stated: Bees are one of the most
important agricultural sectors, which success in plant reproduction,
reproduction and production of half of the oilseeds, and quantitative and
qualitative increase in livestock fodder depend on the pollination of these
small animals.

Moshir-Ghaffari, acknowledged the diversity of honey in the
country, and stated that: We have about 52 types of honey from various plants
in the country, and if the export conditions are suitable, there is a great
potential in the beekeeping sector.

He also added that: Iran is one of the four countries
producing honey and hives in the world and there is good potential in this
field. Regarding the export of honey and its products from the country, he
stated that: Last year, we exported about 1,500 tons of honey.
