The World Health Organization (WHO) has called on Iran to
take part in successful efforts to combat the COVID-19 disease
The regional meeting of Asia, the Far East and Oceania was
attended by all veterinary heads of Asia-Pacific countries, including 37 countries
in the region chairman of the General Assembly of the World Livestock Health
Organization, representatives of the Central Office of the World Livestock
Organization, Chairman of the Regional Office of the Organization, and Chairman
of the Veterinary Organization of Iran was held.
Ali-Safar Makanali, as the new Secretary General of the
Regional Commission of the World Animal Health Organization, the head of our
country's veterinary organization, said that more than 100 cats and dogs whose
owners had the COVID-19 disease were sampled, and fortunately none was
positive. He also added that: The
cooperation of the Central Veterinary Laboratory of the country in performing
specialized COVID-19 tests was very significant.
Based on this report, in this meeting, the representative of
the regional office of the World Animal Health Organization thanked Iran for
its actions in regard to the COVID-19 disease and asked Makanali to cooperate
with the National Veterinary Organization in the National Committee for
combating COVID-19, and to share their experience and findings with other other
countries in the region and to the regional office of the World Organization
for Animal Health.
