Sustainable management of Hyrcanian forests and its global
registration
Khosrow Shahbazi spoke about the latest situation in the
Hyrcanian forests: The project of "Sustainable Management of Hyrcanian
Forests" is based on satellite images of Hyrcanian forests with an area of
2.4 million hectares. Shahbazi pointed out that the Hyrcanian forests are one
of the most important forests in Iran and have a very high value, and also
stated that: Fortunately, the Hyrcanian forests are world-renowned and are considered
World Heritage Sites.
He continued by
emphasizing that our duty is to protect, develop and rehabilitate these
forests, and continued: Fortunately, the situation in the Hyrcanian forests has
improved greatly since 1990, and measures have been taken to maintain and
revitalize it.
Shahbazi also stated that the development, protection and
restoration of Hyrcanian forests is one of the programs of the Forests,
Rangelands and Watershed Management Organization of the country.
He then continued by stating that: Currently, more than 2600
people have been recruited to protect the Hyrcanian forests.
