Russia biggest buyer of Iranian Pistachio
Russia was the main destination of Iran’s pistachio in the
first five months of the current fiscal year (started March 21), according to
the head of the foreign trade office of the Iran Central Rural Cooperatives
Organization.
Twenty-three percent of Iran’s total exported pistachios
were dispatched to the Russian Federation, Rouhollah Latifi said.
“In this period, 15,981 tons of
quality pistachio, valued at $109,714,177, were exported from Iran to 44
countries of the world, showing a 6 percent growth and a one percent decline in
weight and value respectively, compared to the same period last year,” he said,
Tasnim reported.
Other major target markets of Iran’s pistachio were Germany,
the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kyrgyzstan and China, Latifi added.
