Production and export of 180,000 tons of salmon in 2021 in
Iran

The Director General of the Office of Quality Improvement,
Processing and Development of the Aquatic Market of the Fisheries Organization
of Iran mentioned: Based on single species, after salmon, warm-water species
and then different species of fish in the south of the country have the highest
supply and access to the people.

Issa Golshahi stated: It is predicted that this year, like
last year, about 180,000 tons of trout will be produced in the country.
Regarding the production and entry of new aquatic products into the market, he
said: In 2020, in addition to the supply of canned salmon in the domestic
market for the first time, in the field of canned products, we produced and
supplied Kilka pickles for the domestic market and export market.

The Director General of the Office of Quality Improvement,
Processing and Development of the Aquatic Market of the Fisheries Organization
of Iran considered the reduction of fish effluents, such as extinction,
viscera, head and tail as the advantages of fish silage production and stated
that: To produce more fish silage, salmon waste, especially viscera, is used.
