Oilseed production in IRAN

Fifty percent of the
country self-reliant on oilseed production in five years

The head of the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture announced
that: with well thought planning we can achieve about 50% self-reliance in
oilseed production within the next 5 years.

According to the information centre of the ministry of
Jihad-Agriculture, Eng. Abbas Keshavarz in his meeting with Mr. Mahdi
Boroumandi, Marvdasht Arsanjaan people's representative, and a member of the
Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, stated that:
This year, with more than 6 million hectares of land under cultivation, we will
have a good situation in wheat production.

 He also added that:
with an appropriate planning we can achieve about 50% self-reliance in oilseed
production within the next 5 years.
