Numerous agricultural projects to be inaugurated across Iran
The Iranian Ministry of Agriculture has plans underway to
inaugurate numerous agricultural projects worth about $1.8 billion in various
provinces concurrent with the Agricultural Jihad Week.
The mentioned projects, including 735 water and soil
management projects, 245 horticultural projects, 207 livestock projects, 52
natural resources projects, 47 fishery and aquaculture projects, and 161
agricultural mechanization projects are going to provide job opportunities for
over 10,299 people.
As reported, the said projects will be put into operation in
Kordestan, South Khorasan, Isfahan and Semnan provinces.
In the past forty years, since the Islamic Revolution, Iran
has witnessed a remarkable improvement in various sectors and the agriculture
industry has been one of the areas in which the country has undergone huge
development.
Iran is situated in a dry plateau with limited water
resources, so most of the country’s development projects in the agriculture
sector have been focused on decreasing and managing water consumption by
introducing new irrigation methods.
