Tehran – Iran's North Khorasan Province has begun exporting saffron to Italy under its own regional brand, as efforts to boost value-added agricultural exports gain momentum.

 

According to provincial agriculture officials, Oros Land, a local processing and packaging company with an annual capacity of one metric ton, exports around 700 kilograms of packaged saffron to Italy each year.

 

Officials said the initiative highlights the province's growing strength in saffron processing, branding, and international marketing, with further expansion expected to increase export revenues and strengthen the global presence of North Khorasan saffron.

 

To support the industry, the province will also establish two saffron commodity exchange warehouses before the next harvest, enabling farmers to market their product more efficiently while improving price transparency and reducing raw saffron sales.
