Tehran - Iran’s Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri has issued a message marking the arrival of Nowruz, the ancient Persian calendar New Year.

 

"We begin the spring of nature with the radiance of the soul, drawing from the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan, the spring of the Quran," Minister Nouri said.

 

"Though we carry grief in our hearts for the loss of our Martyred Leader [Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei], as well as the martyrdom of commanders, senior state officials, our colleagues, and our dear citizens, we remain steadfast in continuing their path. We begin the new year with strength, dedicated to the victory and honor of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

 

The minister noted that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei has designated the year 1405 under the theme "Resistance Economy in Light of National Unity and National Security." He said the framework both continues the path of the Martyred Imam and clarifies the ministry's mission in serving the Iranian people.

 

"Ensuring the nation's food security, along with the livelihoods and sustenance of the people, is the core mission of the Ministry of Agriculture," the minister stated. "In alignment with this year's slogan, we will safeguard sustainable food security by reinforcing national unity and national security, working with doubled effort to realize a resistance economy."

 

Nouri drew a parallel between the nation's military defenders and those working behind the front lines of the economy. "While the frontline of battle, with the bravery of our valiant soldiers and powerful military, fills all patriotic Iranians with pride, the tireless soldiers of the economy, production, and food security stand steadfast behind the battlefield to ensure the comfort and well-being of the noble people of Iran," he said.

 

The minister expressed gratitude to farmers, herders, rural and nomadic communities, suppliers, trade unions, associations, and civil organizations. He extended Nowruz greetings to all economic actors in the supply chain, as well as to the agricultural community, ministry managers, and staff, and prayed for their prosperity and health, and for the continued honor and success of Iran.

 

In his closing remarks, Nouri paid tribute to the departed soul of the Martyred Imam Khamenei, vowing to honor the memory of all martyrs who defended the homeland.

 

"We swear by the blood of all martyrs who defended the nation that we will not withhold a single moment of service for the pride of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the security and peace of the people of our country," the minister said.
