Minister invites Iraq’s new agriculture minister to visit Iran
Tehran – Iranian Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri has congratulated Abdul Rahim Jassim Muhammad al-Shammari on his appointment as Iraq’s Minister of Agriculture and invited him to visit Iran for talks aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in agriculture and food security.
In a formal message, Nouri emphasized the strong religious, cultural, and historical bonds between Iran and Iraq, describing them as a solid foundation for expanding cooperation across a range of economic sectors, particularly agriculture.
He expressed confidence that Jassim’s experience and leadership would help elevate agricultural relations and foster closer coordination between the two countries.
The Iranian minsiter also called for enhanced collaboration in agricultural development and food security, proposing the establishment of a Joint Iran-Iraq Agricultural Cooperation Committee to advance shared priorities and facilitate future initiatives.
The invitation reflects the two neighbors’ growing interest in strengthening agricultural partnerships and expanding cooperation on issues of mutual strategic importance.
