The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei planted one sapling on the occasion of Tree Plantation Day and Natural Resources Week on Monday.  

Speaking at the ceremony, the Leader called for further plantation of trees and creation of green areas.

The Arbor Day, which is celebrated every year to promote the development and preservation of greenery across the country, inaugurates the national Natural Resources Week.

On Arbor Day, which fell on Monday this year, Iranian individuals, groups and environmental activists plant trees and encourage others to do so.
