Sistan-Baluchestan - The city of Khash, situated in southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province - has begun exporting greenhouse-grown produce to international destinations, with the first consignments of premium eggplant shipped to Russia in recent days, a local agricultural official announced.

 

Mojtaba Khashi, head of the Khash Agricultural Department, said exports of high-grade greenhouse eggplant have already exceeded 100 tons. He added that sorting and packaging operations for greenhouse tomatoes are now in their final phase.

 

He noted that shipments are planned for nine export markets. The primary destinations include Russia, Kazakhstan, and Persian Gulf states such as the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, and Pakistan.

 

He said forecasting exact export volumes remains difficult due to market variables, including supply and demand, price fluctuations, exchange-rate volatility, and logistical factors.

 

Despite these uncertainties, he emphasized that the overall export trajectory continues to rise.
