Kermanshah vineyards set to yield 130,000 tons of grapes in 2025

Kermanshah - The head of Kermanshah’s Agricultural Organization has announced that grape production in the province’s vineyards is projected to reach 130,000 tons this year.

In an interview with ISNA, Saeed Karimi described grapes as Kermanshah’s most significant orchard crop in both cultivated area and total output.

“Vineyards stretch across the entire province - from the coldest highland regions to the warmest lowlands - covering more than 10,000 hectares,” he said.

Karimi noted that while most of the harvest is consumed fresh, part of it is processed into raisins and other grape products.

He explained that longstanding varieties such as Bidaneh, Askari, Fakhri, Sahebi, and Yaghouti continue to be grown, while high-yield varieties like Flame Seedless, Perlette Seedless, Turkmen 4, and Red Globe have expanded rapidly in recent years due to strong market demand.

The provincial official added that newly established vineyards increasingly rely on trellising systems, with arbor, upright, and pergola methods now widely used to boost productivity and quality.
