Kazakhstan a key gateway for Iran to access Eurasian markets: Minister
Tehran – The Iranian agriculture minister said cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is being seriously pursued and operationalized.
“Kazakhstan is one of the most important and largest countries in the region, and given the current trade volume of around $500 million, the goal is to raise Iran-Kazakhstan trade exchanges to $3 billion,” Gholamreza Nouri said ahead of his visit to Kazakhstan.
He added, “The 13th administration is committed to activating joint economic agreements and expanding bilateral ties, particularly in agriculture, trade, and logistics. Kazakhstan serves as a key gateway for Iran to access Eurasian markets, and both nations are working to strengthen connectivity through transport and energy corridors.”
This visit aims to finalize pending agreements and explore new opportunities in sectors such as food security, technology exchange, and joint investments.
