Iranian research institute develops 27 new seeds
The head of Iran’s Dryland Agricultural Research Institute (DARI) said the center has introduced 27 new seeds after years of research.
“The new seeds include wheat, barely, chickpea, lentils and oil seeds,” Mozaffar Roostaei said on Tuesday.
He added that the seeds were developed by Iranian researchers after 14 years of extensive research activities.
The new seeds are adapted based on Iran’s local and environmental conditions and are resilient to drought, cold snaps, and various diseases.
Iran’s Dryland Agricultural Research Institute has so far developed over 100 seeds.
