Iran seeking to export veterinary vaccines to Zimbabwe
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Zimbabwe with a high-ranking
delegation visited the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute aiming to
extend scientific cooperation and export of veterinary vaccines to Zimbabwe.
According to the Public Relations report of Razi institute،
the joint meeting between Dr. Ali Es-haghi, Director General of Razi
institute and the board of directors of the institute and Dr. Anxious Jongwe
Masuka, Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and Rural
Development of republic of Zimbabwe was held up aiming to investigate the
fields of joint collaboration between Razi institute and republic of Zimbabwe
in Dr. Kaveh hall of Razi institute in 13 February,2023.
Dr. Es-haghi, while greeting the Minister and his delegates, expressed that:
according to the Iran’s 7th economic plan, one of the strategic goals of this
institute is to make economic, technological and scientific communications with
the African countries. He added: Razi institute has an extensive activity in
the field of producing the vaccine and veterinary and medical biologic products
and the main focus of this institute is to produce medical, human, animal,
poultry, and aquatic vaccines and this institute provides most of the domestic
required vaccines.
While pointing to the production of livestock vaccines such as FMD in Razi
institute, Dr. Es-haghi added: by local strains from Zimbabwe, we will be able
to produce the required vaccines and also we can offer trainings to your
experts in Zimbabwe.
Dr. Es-haghi said: research and development is a main activity of the
institute and all the products of Razi are the fruit of a century old research
and development aimed at providing services to Iran and some neighboring
countries. Dr. Es-haghi reminded that: research regarding the animal and
livestock diseases is one the most prominent task of Razi institute which can
be referred to and many vaccines have been made for different diseases through
this institute’s extensive research so far.
In the following, Dr. Es-haghi, while emphasizing the Razi institute’s
experience in the field of exporting vaccine and livestock and medical
products, expressed that: this institute is ready to exchange information and
technology in the field of vaccine production to the republic of Zimbabwe.
Razi institute is a fruitful, fertile and honorable institute.
Dr. Masuka, Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, Climate and
Rural Development of republic of Zimbabwe, while pointing out the capability of
Razi institute in making the vaccine production as a self-sufficient issue in
Iran, considered the activity of this institute including producing the
COVID-19 vaccine as a means of honor for Iranians and appreciated the
hospitability of this institute to arrange this visit.
Prof. Jiri, the Country Director of agriculture department (AGRITEX) briefly
pointed to the loss of livestock in his country, due to FMD and Theileriosis,
asked for exporting the livestock vaccines, training of the experts and
transfer of technology of this institute to his country.
Dr. Ghaderi, the Head of International Affairs of Razi institute, while
appreciating the presence of this group in this institute, said: this institute
is quite ready to export products, transfer the technology of vaccine to the
developing countries. He added: joint membership of Iran and Zimbabwe in the
Union of Non-Aligned Movement countries, called NAM, and the spirit of
anti-arrogance and global hegemony of world super powers, and anti-racism
attitudes and ideology are positive signs of the alignment and convergence of
the two countries in the implementation of economic policies and we hope that
this meeting will be an effective step to the fruitful supportive
collaborations between two countries.
