The head of the Iranian Fisheries Organization said: Iran is
the second largest producer of caviar and the third largest producer of
sturgeon meat in the world

According to the Information Centre of the Ministry of
Jihad-Agricuture, Nabiolah Khoun-Mirzaie, the Deputy Minister of
Jihad-Agriculture and the Head of the Fisheries Organization of Iran, in the
news editorial office of the IRIB, announced this and stated: Achieving the
second place in the world in sturgeon meat production is on the agenda of this
organization.

Referring to the agreement of the Caspian littoral states on
the ban on sturgeon fishing for the past 10 years, he mentioned that: With the
ban on sturgeon fishing, the breeding of this species of fish in the country
has been seriously pursued. He pointed out that the sturgeon production chain
in Mazandaran province is complete, and added that:
