Iran has the world's first rank in salmon production
in the world / Fisheries program  for
sturgeon farming in non-coastal provinces

Deputy
director of aquaculture development of Iran's Fisheries Organization said:
Islamic Republic of Iran has gained the first rank in trout production in the
world.

According
to the Ministry of Agriculture-Jihad quoted by IRNA, Hossein Abdolahi has also added that: considering the
diseases occurred in the field of trout production in Chile, Islamic Republic
of Iran produces 16% of total production of this kind of fish in the world, and
has gained the first place in this field.

He
also mentioned that: one million and 200 thousand tons of aquatic products were
produced in the country last year, which 60 percent of it belongs to hydrothermal
products, 30 percent to cold water, and the rest are other fishes and shrimp.

Deputy
director of aquaculture development of Iran's Fisheries Organization also said: 200 million pieces of ornamental fish are
produced annually in the country, which central provinces and Isfahan have the
first place in the field of breeding and production of these fishes.

Abdul
Hay also added that: 90% of the country's hydrothermal fish products belong to
Khuzestan, Gilan, Mazandaran and Golestan, and 18 other provinces are active in
the field of sturgeon production.

He
then said that: considering the decrease
of water resources of the country due to drought, increasing the efficiency of
water resources is on the scopes of the Iranian Fisheries Organization.

Abdul
Hay also pointed out that: 2500 tons of
sturgeon is being produced in the country, and the sturgeon farms in the
country was increased from twenty in 96 to 90 farms in 2018.
