Iran president announces cabinet reshuffle, replaces agriculture minister
Iranian President Ebrahaim Raisi on Tuesday announced a Cabinet reshuffle, replacing the minister of agriculture.
Raisi replaced agriculture minister Javad Sadatinejad with a deputy who will serve as interim minister.
A government spokesman cited the need to adapt to continued impacts of the Ukraine war on global food market as a reason for the minister’s dismissal.
Sadatinejad, a former parliament lawmaker, was replaced with his deputy and head of Iran Veterinary Organization Mohammad Aghamiri.
The new appointee will serve in an acting capacity until the Iranian parliament holds a vote of confidence for a new agriculture minister.
