Iran looking for expansion in trade with Russia, Kazakhstan
Iran is planning to increase its trade relations with Russia
and Kazakhstan, an official with Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran said.
We are in talks with Russian and Kazakh officials in efforts
to increase the province’s agricultural exchanges and barter trade with the two
countries, Rahim Bakhshi, Director General of Investment and Employment Affairs
Coordination Office of Mazandaran Governorate, told IRNA.
He added, “Mazandaran province ranks first in the country
for production of 17 agricultural products, and we are resolved to increase our
exports to these countries”.
The province has cargo infrastructure capable of handling
large freighters and attracting and retaining cargo operations, Bakhshi said.
The volume of trade between Moscow and Tehran reached $4
billion between January and October 2022. Russian officials have said that the
volume of trade will reach $7.5 billion by 2025.
