Tehran – Iran has been recognized as a global leader in soil conservation awareness, securing the top position in the 2024 World Soil Day international competition organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

Niazi Shahraki, Iran's Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Water and Soil Affairs, announced the country's achievement.

He emphasized the significant progress made in recent years, with soil surveys and fertility assessments conducted on over 103,000 hectares of land.

This recognition underscores Iran's dedication to sustainable agricultural practices and the preservation of its valuable soil resources.
