Iran’s balance of foreign trade of aquatics soars
Iran’s balance of foreign trade of aquatics in the first two
months of the current Persian calendar year (March 21 to April 22) reached +$54
million, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration
(IRICA).
IRICA added that Iran exported $58 million worth of aquatics
overseas from March 21 to April 22, 2023 while the country imported nearly $4
million worth of aquatics.
Iran’s export of aquatics reached from $44 million in the
previous year to $58 million in the first two months of the current year,
registering a 29 percent growth compared to the same period of last year,
Tasnim news agency reported.
Over 973 tons of aquatics, valued at $4 million, were
imported into the country in the first two months of this year, showing a 174
and 56 percent growth in weight and value respectively compared to last year’s
corresponding period.
Iran’s export of shrimp in the first two months of the
current year increased 113 percent in terms of weight compared to a year
earlier, IRICA added.
