Iran, Uzbekistan agree to boost ties in agricultural research, education
On the 17th of April, a meeting was held in the presence of
the Deputy Minister and the head of the Agricultural Research, Education and
Extension Organization (AREEO), and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to develop
strategic cooperation in agricultural research and education between the two
countries.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Abdullaev Bakhodir Barotovich,
thanked AREEO for developing and implementing the training program for
"young scientists" of Uzbekistan in the field of agricultural
sciences. In addition to informing AREEO about holding of the international
veterinary exhibition in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
He sought the opinion of the head of the AREEO to
participate in this exhibition actively. Dr. Khayam Nekouei, while emphasizing
the development of the mentioned educational and research relations, accepting
the participation of AREEO in the exhibition. He stated that one of the ways to
develop the country's agricultural sector is the convergence of all
agricultural higher education under the umbrella of the Agriculture Jahad
Ministry. Ambassador officially invited the deputy minister and the head of the
AREEO to visit Uzbekistan, which was accepted by the honorable head of the
organization.
In the continuation of the meeting, Dr. Valinassab, the
Director General of the Academic Relational and International Affairs talked
about the agricultural research-training program for young scientists of
Uzbekistan.
He stated that this
one-month training course was followed up and compiled through a multilateral
agreement. In this case, seven specialists from the Uzbekistan's agriculture
sector attend in the training courses, in the fields of biotechnology, animal
sciences, horticultural sciences, seed breeding, agricultural engineering,
forest and forestry, and serum production.
The ambassador of Uzbekistan expressed his interest in exporting livestock and
poultry vaccines to this country and research in the field of potatoes. This
proposal was accepted and approved by the head of the AREEO.
