Iran, Russia explore ways to remove
obstacles to rise in export

Iranian Agriculture Minister Seyed Javad
Sadatinejad and President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Sergey Katyrin discussed ways to remove obstacles to the rise in exports.

In a recent meeting in Tehran, Sadatinejad
and Katyrin noted that ties between Iran and Russia had reached new highs and
it’s time all obstacles in the way of enhanced coordination and cooperation
between the two counties be removed.

“Tariffs (from Russia’s side) can be
lowered and I think that could be helpful,” the Iranian minister said during
the meeting.

Noting that Iran is ready to import fresh
meat and chicken meat from Russia, Sadatinejad said, “Iranian firms can use the
International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) to swap Russian products”.

Katyrin, for his part, pointed to
Iran-Russia’s level of political and economic ties and said, “The existing
capacities and potentials should be empowered. We intend to boost the level of
trade ties between the two countries”.

He added that obstacles to banking and
financial cooperation between Moscow and Tehran should be also addressed.

Iran recently hosted a large delegation of
representatives from Russian businesses and companies on September 19 days
after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the planned visit in a meeting
with Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi.
