India discuss ways to improve sanitation of livestock products



 



The head of Iran’s Veterinary Organization and the chairman
of India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Exports Development Authority
(APEDA) discussed ways to produce livestock products free from sanitation and
safety concerns.



According to the public relations office of the Ministry of
Agriculture, Mojtaba Norouzi, who visited New Delhi on top of a delegation, and
Shri Abhishek discussed health coordination for the export and import of
livestock, aquaculture products and inputs between the two countries.



The Iranian deputy Agriculture Minister visited some of
India’s slaughterhouses and issued them the Iran Veterinary Organization’s
conditional health certificate to be able to export their products to the
Islamic Republic.



Iranian companies and livestock producers are required to
implement self-management to ensure the quality of the materials used to raise
livestock, thereby protecting the safety of both domestic and foreign
consumers, he said.



Norouzi also met and held talks with Iran’s
ambassador in New Delhi to discuss the issues related to the export and import
of livestock inputs, meat, wool, eggs, aquatic products, etc
