Inauguration of the largest greenhouse project in the Middle East in Iran
The largest greenhouse project in the Middle East was
inaugurated in East Azerbaijan by order of the President.
The 80-hectare greenhouse complex, and five summer
greenhouse production projects were opened by video conference in the Aras Free
Zone (Jolfa) by order of the President.
Dr. Hasan Rouhani, The president said at the inauguration of
the large greenhouse complex: We اhave an 80-hectare greenhouse in
the Aras Free Zone, which is one of the largest greenhouse projects in the
Middle East, that has a good employment and export role, and most of the
products of this greenhouse are for export.
The head of the Jihad-Agriculture Organization of the
province stated that the plan of this greenhouse complex is to produce
vegetable and summer products inside the greenhouse, and outside the normal
growing season, and the goal is to export the products to the countries of the region,
mainly Russia.
He also added that: Numerous products, such as cucumber,
eggplant, bell pepper and tomato are produced in this greenhouse complex, and
now most of the different types of tomatoes and bell peppers in different
colors and the Californian type are grown, and the harvest has already begun.
