Inauguration of a large national and regional veterinary laboratory
complex in the country (Tabriz)
(PCR), Parasitology Laboratories, Animal Serology, Poultry Serology,
Pathological Microbial Laboratory, Food Microbiology Laboratory, Chemistry
Analysis, National Rabies Diagnosis Laboratory and a variety of High Tech
devices, which has been established for the prevention and management of common
diseases of humans and animals as a reference laboratory and also to perform
the necessary tests for the export and import of livestock and raw animal products.
The head of the country's veterinary organization spoke at
the ceremony about the importance of veterinary medicine and its role in
ensuring health in the country and the world and stated that: 21 years before
the founding of the United Nations, due to the spread of animal
diseases and common human and animal diseases, some countries established the
International Office for the Control of Infectious Diseases.
In 2003, right after
79 years, they concluded that this office should be submitted to the World
Animal Health Organization and that all countries should be required to be
members of it during a global program, and that accession should take place
after the approval of the statute in the parliament of each membered country. Currently
it has 182 member countries.
Referring to the World Organization forecasts that the most
important challenge in the world by 2030 is related to food supply, he said: According
to the WHO, the Oie and the United Nations, humans demand for food has
increased year by year until 2030, and even in some countries the rate of
inflation is estimated to be between 5 and 8.5% per year, and yet this ongoing
global super-challenge is becoming a serious threat to the world.
