Increase of 8 million
tons of agricultural production with the implementation of mega projects of
water and soil of the country

The Deputy Minister of Water and Soil Affairs of the
Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture said: with the implementation of the Khuzestan
and Ilam land reclamation project, the amount of agricultural production will
increase from 1.7 million tons to 5 million tons, in the project of developing
irrigation and drainage networks in the west and northwest of the country, the amount of agricultural production
will increase from 760 thousand tons to
5 million tons, and in the Sistan water supply project the amount of agricultural
production will increase from 411 thousand tons to 960 thousand tons.

Alimorad Akbari also mentioned that: Khuzestan and Ilam Land
Rehabilitation Project is one of these large projects, of which 295,000
hectares have been exploited.

He spoke about the project to develop irrigation and
drainage networks in the west and northwest of the country, and mentioned that:
Of the 227,000 hectares of this project, 52,000 hectares are under execution
and 204,000 hectares of it are being implemented with 94% physical progress in
the agricultural jihad sector.

Deputy Minister of Water and Soil of the Ministry of
Jihad-Agriculture, referring to the achievements of water and soil projects,
said: the amount of employment in the project of land reclamation in Khuzestan
and Ilam was 79 thousand people, and in the project of development of
irrigation networks in the west and northwest of the country, 70 thousand
people, and 65,000 people will be employed in the Sistan plain water supply
project. He then mentioned that: With the implementation of Khuzestan and Ilam
land reclamation project, the amount of agricultural production will increase
