IWM, an Effective Measure to Reduce Flood Damages

According to FRWO’s website, 22nd session of the
performance of the executive plan of 2021 chaired by Dr. Massoud Mansour, Head
of FRWO was held at FRWO Headquarters on Monday with the agenda of performance
review of Natural Resources and Watershed Management Department (NRWD) of
Bushehr province.

In this meeting, Dr. Massoud Mansour reiterated:
"The people and officials of Bushehr province are aware of the
effectiveness of IWM projects and they had significant cooperation and
participation in the implementation of IWM interventions and aquifer recharge
projects and building construction during floods and droughts".

He considered the mangrove forests - which are covering an
area of 700 hectares in Bushehr province - as a great economic and
environmental advantage for the province and emphasized that these beautiful
and wonderful forests should be seriously protected.
