Harvesting 350,000 tons of medicinal plants in Iran

The executor of the medicinal plants project of the Ministry
of Jihad-Agriculture said: More than 350,000 tons of medicinal plants were
harvested from 260 hectares of agricultural land in the country last year.

Hossein Zeinali in the city of Kashan, referring to the
increase of 25,000 hectares under the cultivation of medicinal plants, said
that: The country has earned more than $ 550 million from the export of
medicinal plants and its by-products.

Referring to the government's support for the development of
medicinal plants in the country, he added: The value of exports of medicinal
plants in the country is equal to 6% of total exports and this share can be
increased in non-oil exports of the country.

Zeinli noted the increase in comprehensive support for the
production of medicinal plants and added: One thousand billion tomans of 4%
facilities will be paid to the producers of medicinal plants, organizations and
students in the field of medicinal plants and horticulture, and in paying these
facilities, priority is given to people who want to develop the cultivation of
medicinal plants organically and with mechanized planting.
