Green tea leaves in 2020 Iran: Harvesting 117 thousand tons
of green tea leaves this year 

The acting deputy for horticulture of the Ministry of Jihad
for Agriculture said: During the current year, despite the cold weather at the
beginning of the season, and the 10-day delay in the harvesting operation, so
far about 117,126 tons of green tea leaves have been harvested.

Mohamamd Ali Tahmasbi, rRegarding the harvest of green tea
leaves, he stated: Harvesting of green tea leaves from 25,000 hectares of tea
gardens in Gilan and Mazandaran with 50,000 tea-growing families starts every
year from April 20th and continues until the end of October.

He noted the government's support in increasing the
production of green tea leaves, and added that: Ministerial planning,
increasing the price of green tea leaves and preventing tea smuggling have
played a key role in this process.
