Gilan - The Deputy for Health at the Gilan Provincial Veterinary Organization announced that the northern province exported more than four tons of caviar with official veterinary health certification during the current Iranian calendar year (1404), representing a 21 percent increase compared with the same period last year.

 

Saeed Javan said that since the beginning of the year, 4,106 kilograms of caviar produced in Gilan have been exported to international markets after completing comprehensive inspection procedures and obtaining veterinary health certificates.

 

He noted that during the corresponding period last year, caviar exports stood at 3,375 kilograms, underscoring the province’s 21 percent year-on-year growth in exports.

 

Javan explained that Gilan’s caviar undergoes specialized laboratory testing alongside rigorous health and quarantine controls before being granted international certification.

 

“The certified product is subsequently exported to more than 25 countries, including markets in Europe, the Middle East, East Asia, and Australia.”

 

He stressed that continuous veterinary supervision of sturgeon breeding and farming centers, strict health monitoring throughout production and packaging processes, and the issuance of health certificates for each export shipment are key factors in ensuring product safety, strengthening the confidence of destination countries, and sustaining the upward trend in Gilan’s caviar exports.
