Fishing of lantern fishes in the waters of Oman, Iran

The Director General of the Fisheries, and Fisheries Affairs
Office of the Fisheries Organization of Iran announced the fishing of 26,548
tons of lantern fish in the waters of the Oman Sea during the first 11 months
of this year.

He also added that: This represents a 33% increase compared
with the same period last year. Mokhtar Akhondi also stated that: In recent
years, fishing for lantern fishes has been considered as one of the most
important developmental goals of the Fisheries Organization of Iran with the
aim of achieving the goals of the resistance economy policies.

The Director General of the Office of Fisheries and
Fisheries of the Fisheries Organization of Iran, after reminding that lantern
fishes are among the intermediate species of the Oman Sea, said that lanterns
are among the valuable reserves of the Oman Sea that can grow in less than a
year due to their rapid growth and short life, which can play an important role
in fisheries development.

Director General of the Office of Fisheries and Fisheries of
the Fisheries Organization of Iran has counted development of fishery
activities on the Makran coast, job creation of natives living on the southern
coast, and reducing dependence on fish powder imports, currency appreciation
and preventing the outflow of foreign exchange, among the most important goals
of his organization.
