Fishing 11,000 tons of bony fish in the Caspian Sea
The Director General of the Office of Fisheries of the
Fisheries Organization of Iran said: The total catch has increased by almost
one percent, compared to the same period last year. Mokhtar Akhoundi added:
Bone fish fishing in the fishing season of 2020-2021 in Golestan and Gilan
provinces shows an increase of about 23% and 14%, respectively, and in
Mazandaran province shows a reduction of 14%.
He stated that the
amount of bony fish caught in Gilan province was 5413 tons, Mazandaran was
about 4596 tons, and in Golestan it was 1052 tons.
Akhoundo also stated that: 2019-2020, a total of 10,910 tons
of bony fish were caught in the Caspian Sea. The Director General of the Office
of Fisheries of the Fisheries Organization of Iran, stated that 14 species of
economical fish from the family of bony fish are caught in the Caspian Sea.
He also added that:
Three species of whitefish, mullet and carp account for 88% of bony fish
catches.
