FAO, Razi Institute to enhance pharmaceutical cooperation
The representative ad interim of the Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to Iran and the general director of
Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute held talks in Tehran with a focus on
the expansion of cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, especially the
production of medicines and vaccines.
Yubak Dhoj G C and Ali Es-haghi met in late July in the
Iranian capital, according to the public relations office of the institute.
"Carrying out veterinary research is one of the duties
of Razi Institute. All Razi Institute's products in fields of human, livestock,
and poultry vaccines are the results of medical and veterinary research at the
institute and a major portion of Iran's medical and veterinary vaccine needs
are supplied with Razi Institute,” Es-haghi said.
He added that about 3.5 billion doses of livestock and
poultry vaccines are produced domestically by the institute which is affiliated
with the Ministry of Agriculture.
