Export of Iranian raisins

Director General of the Cold and Dried Fruits Office of the
Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture announced a $ 164 million of raisin exports in
the last year. 

Darab Hassani, referring to the latest statistics of the
International Organization of Grapes and its products in 2018, said: Grape crop
occupies 7.4 million hectares of arable land in the world, of which Iran's
share of the total area under grape cultivation in the world is 308 thousand
hectares.

 He added that: China with
11.7 million tons of production, Italy with 8.6 million tons and the United
States with 6.9 million tons of production, ranked first to third in grape
production. He then mentioned that: Among the major producers of

raisins in 2018, Iran with an average production of 200,000
tons and exports of more than 120,000 tons is ranked third in production and
exports after Turkey and the United States.

 Hasani then mentioned
that: Fars, Qazvin, Hamedan, Khorasan Razavi, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan,
Zanjan, Markazi provinces are, respectively, the top producers of the grapes in
the country.
