dollars
Jihad-Agriculture, in regard to fishery products export in 2019, Isa Golshahi
stated that: According to statistics of the year 2019, we exported over 143000
tons of fishery products which worth over $ 528 million to various countries,
and in return $ 70 million of fishery items needed in the country was imported.
He then expressed his hope to have the same trend in 2020,
and we can export fishery products with the value of $ 600 million. In regard to consumption of fishery product
per capita in Iran, Mr. Golshahi has added that: Our per capita consumption is 12.1 kg, and
consumption per capita showed a considerable growth in recent years. He added:
according to our fisheries plan, we want to provide about 30 percent of our
annual protein from fish, and our second goal is to reach the global average of
20 kilograms per year.
He finally added that: We export small and semi-sardine fish
in the South Sea to Sri Lanka, Oman, Far East, Thailand and Malaysia.
