Execution of contract wheat cultivation in rainfed and
irrigated fields in the 2022 crop year

Alireza Mohajer, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the
Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture, said in a meeting on the contract wheat
cultivation: Last year (2020-2021) we had a drought, and this drought continues
for the current crop year, but due to the year full of water before that, we
had little water storage in the dams, but the drought conditions are different
for this year.

Targeting 250,000 hectares of irrigated wheat cultivation in
7 provinces: Hasan Anan, a member of the board of directors and deputy director
of the State Trading Company of Iran, noting that the State Trading Company is
working in 7 provinces as a pilot to conclude contract cultivation with
farmers, added: In a very short period of time, the infrastructure of
conventional wheat cultivation has been provided and the results have been
acceptable.

The deputy director of the State Trading Company of Iran
named Bushehr, Khuzestan, Fars, Sistan and Baluchestan, south of Kerman,
Golestan and Hormozgan as the pilot provinces intended for the state trading
company, and added that: Fortunately, with a target of 250,000 hectares in 7
provinces, 140,421 hectares of contracted wheat cultivation contracts have been
maded.
